Quick answer: ALBM.IN QR Code Designer is a free online tool that makes custom QR codes with your own colours, shapes, logo and a printable sticker. It needs no account, adds no watermark, and builds the code in your browser so nothing you enter is uploaded. You can download it as PNG or SVG.
How to make your QR code in three steps
- 1
Add your link
Type a web address, a WhatsApp number or any text.
- 2
Make it yours
Pick colours, a pattern, corner shapes, a logo and a sticker.
- 3
Download
Save a PNG for posts and print, or an SVG for large signs.
Design a QR code people want to scan
A plain black and white square works, but a code that matches your brand gets noticed and scanned more often. This designer lets you change the colour or use a gradient, switch the pattern from square dots to rounded, soft or leaf shapes, restyle the three corner markers, and place your logo or a social icon in the middle.
Then dress it as a sticker. Pick a card, banner, pill or ticket layout with a short line such as Scan me, Follow us or Chat on WhatsApp, because a code with a clear instruction gets far more scans than a bare square.
Made on your device, not on our servers
Everything happens in your browser. The code, the sticker and any logo you upload are drawn locally and the file is saved straight to your phone or computer. We do not keep your links, your pictures or your finished codes, and there is nothing to log in to.
Where people use it
Wedding cards and invitations, Instagram and WhatsApp profiles, restaurant menus, shop counters, business cards, event signboards, product packaging, Google Maps and review links, YouTube channels, portfolios and online galleries.
Everything you can customise

Static and dynamic QR codes explained
A static QR code holds your address inside the pattern. It cannot be edited, but it never expires and does not depend on any company staying in business. A dynamic QR code holds a short redirect address that the provider can point somewhere else, which allows edits and scan counts but usually stops working when the subscription ends.
This tool makes static codes. For well known sites you may also choose an albm.in short link, which is a fixed redirect. If you may need to change the destination later, point the code at a page you control and edit that page.
QR code words, explained
- Quiet zone
- The blank border around a QR code. Scanners need it to find the edges, so never crop it.
- Error correction
- Extra data that lets a damaged or partly covered code still scan. Levels run L, M, Q and H.
- Finder pattern
- The three large squares in the corners that tell a scanner where the code is and which way is up.
- Static QR code
- A code that holds its content directly and cannot be edited.
- Dynamic QR code
- A code that holds a redirect address so the destination can be changed and scans counted.
- Module
- One small square or dot of the pattern.
Tips for a QR code that scans every time
- Dark code on a light background scans best. Keep the contrast strong.
- Leave the blank border around the code. It is part of the code.
- Print at least 2 cm (about one inch) wide, and larger for anything read from a distance. A good rule is one tenth of the scanning distance.
- Keep a logo near 30 percent of the width or less.
- Do not stretch, crop or place the code over a busy photo.
- Test the final file with two phones before you print a batch.
Frequently asked questions
What is a QR code?
A QR code (Quick Response code) is a square pattern of dots that a phone camera reads to open a web address, start a chat, show text and more. Point the camera at it and tap the link that appears. No app is needed on modern iPhone and Android phones.
How do I make a QR code for free?
Open the ALBM.IN QR Code Designer, type or paste the address, choose colours and a pattern, optionally add a logo and a sticker, then press Download PNG. It takes about a minute and needs no account.
What is the best free QR code generator with a logo?
The ALBM.IN QR Code Designer is free, adds no watermark, has no scan limit, lets you upload any logo or choose popular social icons, and works in the browser without sign-up. Whether it is best depends on whether you need scan analytics, which it does not offer.
Does the QR code have a watermark or an expiry date?
No watermark and no expiry. The code holds the address itself, so it keeps working for as long as the destination page exists.
What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?
A static code stores the address inside the pattern, so it cannot be edited later but never expires and needs no service to stay alive. A dynamic code stores a short redirect address, which lets the owner change the destination and see scan counts, usually for a monthly fee. This tool makes static codes. The optional albm.in short link for well known sites is a fixed redirect, not an editable one.
Can I change where the QR code points after printing?
Not with a static code. If you may need to change the destination, point the code at a page you control, such as your own link page or a Google Drive link whose content you can replace, then print that.
Are QR codes safe to scan?
A QR code is only a link, so the risk is where it goes. Check the address your phone shows before you open it, be careful with codes stuck over other codes, and never enter passwords or payment details on a page you reached from an unknown code. This tool only offers its short link for a list of well known sites.
Can I make a QR code for Wi-Fi, a PDF, a menu or a UPI payment?
This designer makes codes for web addresses, WhatsApp chats and plain text. For a PDF or menu, upload the file to Google Drive or your website and paste its link. For Wi-Fi you can paste the standard text WIFI:T:WPA;S:network;P:password;; into Plain text. UPI and vCard codes are not built in.
What error correction level does the tool use?
Medium by default and the highest level (H) when you add a logo. Higher levels add redundancy so the code still reads when part of it is covered, at the cost of a denser pattern.
Does a QR code work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The built-in camera app on current iPhones and most Android phones reads QR codes directly. Google Lens and many chat apps also scan them.
Can I use the QR codes commercially?
Yes. The codes you make are yours to use on print, packaging, signs, websites and ads, with no attribution required.
What is the best file format and size for printing?
Use SVG for signs, banners and anything a professional printer handles, or the print-size PNG for desktop printing. Keep the code at least 2 cm wide and with its blank border. For a poster read from several metres away, scale it so the width is about one tenth of the reading distance.
How do I scan a QR code?
Open the camera app, point it at the code, hold steady for a second and tap the banner or link that appears. If nothing happens, move closer, add light, or use Google Lens.
Does ALBM.IN keep the links or images I use?
No. The address, logo and design are handled in your browser and are not sent to our servers or saved. The only server involvement is the optional short link, which redirects a scan and keeps no list of links.
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark, no scan limit and no expiry date. You design the code, download it and use it as often as you like, on print or on screen.
Do you store my link, my logo or my QR code?
No. The code, the sticker and any logo you upload are made in your own browser and are never sent to our servers. Nothing is saved to an account because there is no account. Close the tab and it is gone, so download the file you want to keep.
What is the difference between a direct code and a short link?
A direct code holds your web address inside the pattern, so it scans straight to your page and keeps working for as long as that page exists, even without us. For well known sites such as Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube and Google Maps you can instead choose an albm.in short link: the scan opens albm.in for a moment and passes straight on to the same page. Any other address is always encoded directly.
Which addresses can use the short link option?
Well known profile, messaging, video and map hosts, plus albm.in pages. We only forward to a short list of trusted sites so the service cannot be used to send people to harmful pages. Every other address is encoded directly into the code.
Can I track how many people scanned my code?
Not with this tool. The codes are static, which is why they never expire and cost nothing to keep alive. If you want to know how a link performs, add campaign tags to the address itself and read them in your own analytics.
Why will my QR code not scan?
Almost always it is contrast or size. Use a dark code on a light background, keep the blank border around the code, do not stretch it, and print it at least 2 cm (about one inch) wide. If you add a logo keep it under about a third of the width. Always test with two different phones before you print a large batch.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG is right for social posts, messages and most printing. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which suits banners, signboards and professional printers. The SVG holds the code only, without the sticker.
Can I put my logo or an Instagram or WhatsApp icon in the middle?
Yes. Choose one of the popular social icons or upload your own picture. The code is built with a high level of error correction so it still scans with a logo covering part of the middle.
