Quick answer: A wedding invitation QR code links guests to your online invitation, RSVP page, venue map or photo album. The free ALBM.IN QR Code Designer lets you match the wedding colours, add a monogram and print it on the card.
How to make your QR code in three steps
- 1
Add your link
Type a web address, a WhatsApp number or any text.
- 2
Make it yours
Pick colours, a pattern, corner shapes, a logo and a sticker.
- 3
Download
Save a PNG for posts and print, or an SVG for large signs.
Make the card do more
A printed invitation has room for a date and a venue, not for a map, a schedule or a photo gallery. A small QR code in the corner gives guests all of it. Link it to your online invitation or RSVP page, to a Google Maps pin for the venue, or, after the wedding, to the photo album.
Match the code to the card. Use the wedding colours or a soft gradient, a rounded pattern, and initials or a monogram picture in the centre. Choose a sticker line like RSVP here or See the album.
Printing it so every guest can scan it
Order a proof first. Keep the code at least 2.5 cm wide, leave blank space around it, avoid printing it over a pattern or a photo, and prefer a dark code on a light card. Gold foil and very light colours often fail to scan, so use foil for the border and plain ink for the code. Test the printed proof with several phones, including an older one.
For photographers
If you deliver weddings through ALBM.IN, your invitation, RSVP and album already have their own links. Paste any of them above to get a matching code to print on cards, welcome boards and thank-you notes.

Tips for a QR code that scans every time
- Dark code on a light background scans best. Keep the contrast strong.
- Leave the blank border around the code. It is part of the code.
- Print at least 2 cm (about one inch) wide, and larger for anything read from a distance. A good rule is one tenth of the scanning distance.
- Keep a logo near 30 percent of the width or less.
- Do not stretch, crop or place the code over a busy photo.
- Test the final file with two phones before you print a batch.
Frequently asked questions
What should the wedding QR code link to?
The online invitation or RSVP page is most useful before the wedding, a Google Maps link for the venue on the day, and the photo album after the wedding.
Can I use my wedding colours?
Yes. Pick any colour or a gradient, then keep the background light for the best scanning.
How long will the code keep working?
A direct code works for as long as the page it points to stays online, so choose a link you control and keep it live.
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark, no scan limit and no expiry date. You design the code, download it and use it as often as you like, on print or on screen.
Do you store my link, my logo or my QR code?
No. The code, the sticker and any logo you upload are made in your own browser and are never sent to our servers. Nothing is saved to an account because there is no account. Close the tab and it is gone, so download the file you want to keep.
What is the difference between a direct code and a short link?
A direct code holds your web address inside the pattern, so it scans straight to your page and keeps working for as long as that page exists, even without us. For well known sites such as Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube and Google Maps you can instead choose an albm.in short link: the scan opens albm.in for a moment and passes straight on to the same page. Any other address is always encoded directly.
Which addresses can use the short link option?
Well known profile, messaging, video and map hosts, plus albm.in pages. We only forward to a short list of trusted sites so the service cannot be used to send people to harmful pages. Every other address is encoded directly into the code.
Can I track how many people scanned my code?
Not with this tool. The codes are static, which is why they never expire and cost nothing to keep alive. If you want to know how a link performs, add campaign tags to the address itself and read them in your own analytics.
Why will my QR code not scan?
Almost always it is contrast or size. Use a dark code on a light background, keep the blank border around the code, do not stretch it, and print it at least 2 cm (about one inch) wide. If you add a logo keep it under about a third of the width. Always test with two different phones before you print a large batch.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG is right for social posts, messages and most printing. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which suits banners, signboards and professional printers. The SVG holds the code only, without the sticker.
Can I put my logo or an Instagram or WhatsApp icon in the middle?
Yes. Choose one of the popular social icons or upload your own picture. The code is built with a high level of error correction so it still scans with a logo covering part of the middle.
