Loading the QR designer...
Quick answer: To add a logo to a QR code, open the Logo tab in the free ALBM.IN QR Code Designer, upload your picture or choose a social icon, keep it near 30 percent of the code width, and download. The logo stays in your browser.
How to make your QR code in three steps
- 1
Add your link
Type a web address, a WhatsApp number or any text.
- 2
Make it yours
Pick colours, a pattern, corner shapes, a logo and a sticker.
- 3
Download
Save a PNG for posts and print, or an SVG for large signs.
Branded codes get noticed
A logo in the middle tells people who the code belongs to and makes it feel safe to scan. Upload a square or round picture, or choose Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, Google Maps and other icons. The logo is placed on a clean circle so it stays readable.
Your picture stays in your browser. It is resized on your device and used only to draw the code, then discarded when you close the page.
How big can the logo be?
A QR code carries extra data so it can still be read when part of it is covered. The designer uses the highest error correction level when you add a logo. Keep the logo at about 30 percent of the width or less. Above roughly 35 percent, some phones begin to fail, so test before printing.

Tips for a QR code that scans every time
- Dark code on a light background scans best. Keep the contrast strong.
- Leave the blank border around the code. It is part of the code.
- Print at least 2 cm (about one inch) wide, and larger for anything read from a distance. A good rule is one tenth of the scanning distance.
- Keep a logo near 30 percent of the width or less.
- Do not stretch, crop or place the code over a busy photo.
- Test the final file with two phones before you print a batch.
Frequently asked questions
What file should I upload as a logo?
A PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG. Square pictures with a plain or transparent background look best.
Will the logo make the code harder to scan?
A small logo does not. A very large one can. Keep it near 30 percent and check the preview with your phone camera.
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark, no scan limit and no expiry date. You design the code, download it and use it as often as you like, on print or on screen.
Do you store my link, my logo or my QR code?
No. The code, the sticker and any logo you upload are made in your own browser and are never sent to our servers. Nothing is saved to an account because there is no account. Close the tab and it is gone, so download the file you want to keep.
What is the difference between a direct code and a short link?
A direct code holds your web address inside the pattern, so it scans straight to your page and keeps working for as long as that page exists, even without us. For well known sites such as Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube and Google Maps you can instead choose an albm.in short link: the scan opens albm.in for a moment and passes straight on to the same page. Any other address is always encoded directly.
Which addresses can use the short link option?
Well known profile, messaging, video and map hosts, plus albm.in pages. We only forward to a short list of trusted sites so the service cannot be used to send people to harmful pages. Every other address is encoded directly into the code.
Can I track how many people scanned my code?
Not with this tool. The codes are static, which is why they never expire and cost nothing to keep alive. If you want to know how a link performs, add campaign tags to the address itself and read them in your own analytics.
Why will my QR code not scan?
Almost always it is contrast or size. Use a dark code on a light background, keep the blank border around the code, do not stretch it, and print it at least 2 cm (about one inch) wide. If you add a logo keep it under about a third of the width. Always test with two different phones before you print a large batch.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG is right for social posts, messages and most printing. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which suits banners, signboards and professional printers. The SVG holds the code only, without the sticker.
Can I put my logo or an Instagram or WhatsApp icon in the middle?
Yes. Choose one of the popular social icons or upload your own picture. The code is built with a high level of error correction so it still scans with a logo covering part of the middle.
